The article defines the term artistic discourse from the point of view of an interdisciplinary linguo-aesthetic approach. The question of artistic discourse arises whenever the artistic phenomena are included in language, speech and text. At the same time, fiction is only one of the varieties of artistic discourse in the generic sense. Various forms of aesthetic activity create artistic discourse. Its sphere of existence is any area of verbal statements in aesthetic activity. Artistic practices of the 20th century (cinema, radio, post-dramatic theater, performance, graffiti) have significantly expanded the boundaries and concepts of the artistic and, accordingly, the scope of this concept. This article specifies the components of the term “artistic discourse” in an attempt to define it from the standpoint of a linguo-aesthetic approach at the intersection of linguistics, literary criticism and aesthetic theory. The concept of linguoaesthetics presupposes an integral approach to language in its aesthetic function, to the aesthetics of verbal creativity. Linguo-aesthetic theory at the present stage is based on such basic categories as artistic sign, artistic semiosis, artistic message, artistic communication. Among such primary categories is the concept of artistic discourse, which is understood as a set of verbal statements formed as a result of the interaction of the author-artist and the reader (viewer, listener) through a work of art, taking into account the aesthetic factors of generation and perception of these statements in specific types and forms of art.
