Economic structures of the NKVD in the Volga region and regional party authorities: the interaction and conflicts before and during the Great Patriotic War (1937-1942)

The article raises the issue of the interaction between the NKVD and regional authorities in the prewar period and wartime at the example of Volga region. The author considers interdepartmental conflicts in the implementation of general economic objectives aimed at ensuring national defense.
