Jos'e Ortega y Gasset: philosophy and the society

Бесплатный доступ

The paper analyzes the views of the Spanish philosopher José Ortega y Gasset on philosophy. The earlier philosophical concepts - materialistic and idealistic - based mainly on rational explanation of natural and social phenomena have become obsolete. These concepts seem to be incapable of explaining processes taking place in the society. From the thinker's point of view there is a need for new philosophy connected to new realities and capable to understand and determine the ways for their solutions.
