The present study is devoted to conceptual approaches to the state regulation of spatial development at the intraregional level. The purposeful activity of the state on optimization of the organization of settlement of inhabitants, placement in the territory of objects of economy, the social sphere, power, transport and other infrastructures in combination with program measures for support of a number of territories and branches, is necessary for the country as a whole and its regions in particular. The regional policy of alignment has exhausted itself. Understanding of these problems has been taking place in recent years by the Russian scientific community. In this regard, economic science faces the task of substantiating theoretical approaches and methodological provisions to the development of a new spatial policy of the Russian Federation and its regions (intraregional aspect), to the search for optimal forms and methods of state influence on spatial development. The issue of identifying the real spatial framework for the development of the country and its regions, including the nodes of advanced growth and the links between them, is on the agenda; planning the directions of advanced development of these «territories of growth», finally, the development of projects to involve in the «orbit of influence» of these nodes and «weak» territories.
