Genocide as an international crime

The article examines the criminal law aspects of such an international crime as genocide. The author gives a brief historical overview of the origin of the term "genocide", analyzes its manifestations in foreign countries. The paper examines the prospect of improving the Russian criminal law through the implementation of some international convention provisions. The author concluded that genocide is a threat to the entire world community, therefore it is important to modernize the national criminal legislation, carrying out prevention in this area.
