The article considers the features of the state policy in the field of medicine, namely in prevention smallpox epidemics in Eastern Siberia in the XIXth century. The main activities to combat the spread of smallpox in Eastern Siberia in the second half of the XVIIIth-XIXth centuries are revealed on the basis of the archival materials.
