Exiguobacterium sp. RS34 - haloalkalitolerant facultatively anaerobic non-sporulating bacterium of Bacillales order isolated from sludge warehouse of potash mining

A non-sporulating orange pigmented haloalkalitolerant bacterium (strain RS34) was isolated from sludge warehouse waters on potash plant, mine 3 of Uralkali company (Solikamsk, Russia). According to 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis, this strain belonged to the genus Exiguobacterium family incertae sedis of Bacillales order (93.8-99.7%). Based on phenotypic, chemotaxanomic and genotypic traits, the strain RS34 should be classified at this time point as Exiguobacterium sp. RS34 (JQ966108).
