The article considers the problems and the value of upholding the importance of natural and evangelical morality in the modern world in which moral relativism is quickly proliferating. It is argued that both the ethical norms proper to human nature and the commandments written in the Bible reveal God’s true plan for mankind. It is proposed to consider human behavior in the context of the Bible’s narration of the creation of man by God, who gives his existence a purpose and inscribes in his heart a natural law (Rom 2:15). The value of natural law in the development of human society is considered, keeping in mind also the treatment of this topic in the doctrinal documents of the Roman Catholic Church issued between the 19th and 21st centuries.
