In article are considered the personality and activity of E. A. Veselovsky holding a post of the chairman of the Mordovian economic council in 1957 – 1961. In work the contribution of Veselovsky is highly praised in the social and economic development of Mordovia, and is emphasized the positive influence of this activity on further development of the region.
