Ancient Turkic petroglyphs of Elangash (South-Eastern Altai)

In the article we considered a compact group of rock art images, located on the 5th sector of petroglyphic site Elangash in South-Eastern Altai. Despite three monographic publications of this one of the most famous petroglyphic site in Altai dating of the most images and compositions was not made. On the basis of stylistic features, reproduced details (quiver, case for a bow, bows, horses haircut), small sunburn of the picked images author identified a group of ancient Turkic petroglyphs, made in the picked technique. As is known, such technique of creating rock images was rarely used in the early Middle Ages. The most popular images of this group of petroglyphs are riders, deer, camels, and the most popular subject - scenes of hunting riders on wild animals.
