Dynamics of mineral compounds of nitrogen and phosphorus in the experimental conditions in the presence Dreissena bugensis

The results of laboratory studies of the effect of the form-edificator Lower Volga reservoirs bivalve Dreissena bugensis the dynamics of major nutrients. It is shown that the result of the activity Dreissena allocates substantial amounts of nitrate and phosphate in the environment, in terms of 1 g of biomass is about 0.03 mgN / day and 0.001 mgP / day. In addition, in the presence of Dreissena significantly accelerates the process of nitrification. The findings may provide the basis for an approximate calculation of the impact of D. bugensis on the regime of nutrients in water reservoirs.
