The dynamics of the demographic characteristics of the workers and employees of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic in 1950-1958

The article, basing on archival materials, reveals the dynamics of the demographic characteristics of workers and employees of the Tatar Soviet Socialist Autonomous Republic in 1950-1958. Statistics indicates a continuous growth in the number of workers and employees, due to further development of the industry and organization of new and expansion of existing collective farms considered being economically weak ones at the expense lands. The processes of urbanization also affected the distribution of workers and employees on settlements of the republic. The author investigates the main characteristics, such as the number, sex and age structure of workers and employees, their distribution according to the branches of the national economy of the republic, urban and rural settlements.
