The analysis of demographic data for 2018-2019 shows that the countries of the European continent are currently under the strongest influence of depopulation processes. In the course of analyzing the indicators of birth rate, mortality, immigration, emigration, abortion rates, fertility of the population by Eurostat and official statistical services of the European countries, the author determines the levels of natural growth, natural loss of the population, and migration balance. The data obtained allowed us to identify the types of population reproduction and confirm the conclusion that most European countries are characterized by a narrowed type of population reproduction (mortality exceeds birth rate). While in the core countries, migrants replenish the population and there is a slight increase, in the countries of the European periphery, which adhere to the policy of «closed doors» in relation to migrants, there are processes of demographic extinction.
