Activities of the opposition forces on the territory of Mordovian region in the period of abolishing the I State duma in 1906

The article is devoted to events that took place on the territory of modern Republic of Mordovia in the summer of 1906 in the period that followed the dissolution of the I State Duma. The author considered a time of imminent emergence of the so-called «Vyborg Manifest», as well as its pervasion and distribution in territory of the districts of the Penza province (which are currently parts of the Republic of Mordovia) - Saransk, Krasnoslobodsk and Insar. It also shows the activities of deputies of the dissolved Duma on the territory of the Penza province, their advocacy, and huge direct work with local people (i.e. with potential voters). The great attention is paid directly to the spread on the lands of the Mordovian region «Vyborg Manifest» in July-August, 1906. The author marked consequences of expanding anti-government propaganda, and activities of the revolutionary organizations among the population of Simbirsk and Penza provinces during the period under review. First of all, the author noted the spread by the socialist-revolutionaries and social-democrats of their own illegal printed materials, and their direct influence on composing by peasants’ mandates in the State Duma, which had the opposition demands. However, it should be noted that the spread of the proclamation was of short duration, and after the confiscation of the detected copies from the local population, in the future, almost never met opposition among distributed printed materials.
