Public figures in Russian history in the eyes of citizens of Saint Petersburg (on materials of sociological research)

In the article the significance of figures of statesmen in Russian history in the minds of residents of Saint Petersburg is considered on materials of sociological research. The study shows that the historical memory is one of the dominant features of national unity. The author demonstrates the dynamics of changing minds of residents of Saint Petersburg in 1996-2014 and finds its age conditionality.
