Far eastern period in the academic career of professor N.V. Kyuner, an outstanding orientalist and historian

The article examines the Far Eastern period (1900-1925) in research and teaching activities of Nikolai Kyuner, an outstanding specialist in the history of Far Eastern countries and peoples. The authors analyze his valuable ideas of 1906-1916 on improving the quality of teaching and expanding the range of historical disciplines through the study of the history of Siberia, Amur region and Manchuria, tracing their further implementation. The article is based on a range of new archival documents from several central and regional Russian archives.
