Improvement of the embankments as a factor in the development of the urban environment

This article is devoted to the study of the impact of the embankment on the urban environment. The typology and distinctive features of modern embankments have been studied. The principles of organization and functional content of the embankment have been determined. The embankment is considered as the most important element of the city's public spaces, the impact of the embankment on the structure of the city is studied. The examples of successful reconstruction of embankments in the world practice are considered. The potential of modern embankments as new attractions and points of attraction has been identified.
