We developed the method to assess the outcomes of management of chronic osteomyelitis using biochemical tests (RF patent 2228526). The long term outcomes of managing osteomylitic cavities in the lower limbs with the Ilizarov method of controlled transosseous osteosynthesis were studied in 22 patients with the application of the biochemical test of blood serum. It revealed the recurrences of chronic osteomyelitis in three patients that should be arrested before treating associated orthopaedic pathologies such as joint contractures, limb shortening, deformity or bone defect.
