Balance of potassium in herbal ecosystems of Dagestan middle mountains

The study is devoted to determination the volume of accumulation and translocation of aboveground and underground mass in blocks of organic matter, concentration and potassium reserves, as well as the balance of this element in the grass ecosystems of the Middle mountain Dagestan subprovince. Studies were carried out on the slopes of northern and southern exposure of Mount Mayak, with a steepness respectively 15-20° and 20-25° in the experimental base of the Mountain Botanical Garden Dagestan Scientific Center RAS at an altitude of 1700-1800 m above sea level. The results of research on the formation of green mass, rags and felt, live and dead ground masses of natural phytocenosis are presented. The concentrations and reserves of potassium in blocks of organic matter are determined from the exposures of the slopes. Potassium was removed to form an organic mass and return it to the soil by leaching from aboveground organs, intra vital precipitation and decomposition of underground organs and steppe felts. The degree of balance of this plant nutrient balance has been determined.
