Rescue archaeological excavation of a solitary elite burial mound of the Sargat culture at the site of Gosudarevo ozero-1 (the Baraba forest-steppe)

In 2017, the rescue excavation of a solitary burial mound of Gosudarevo Ozero-1 in Vengerovo District of Novosibirsk Region was conducted. The article describes the preliminary results of the excavation. Ten burials, ritual and modern pits, and a ditch were found in the area of30 x 30 m. The burials contained the standard tool set of the Sargat culture, including hand-molded pottery vessels, spindle whorl, necklaces, beads, arrowheads, and fragments of iron and bone objects. The dating object was a bronze belt buckle. Judging by the specific structural features of the burial mound, standardized pottery complex and the parallels, the burial mound can be attributed to the Sargat culture and dated to the 5th-4th-3rd centuries BC.
