In the field season of 2014, the Shilka-Blagoveshchensk unit of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography of the SB RAS conducted archaeological survey in the Sretensky District of the Transbaikal Region. Two objects of archaeological heritage (Ust-Chernaya-3; Ust-Zheltuga-3) have been found. Ust-Zheltuga-3 is a Neolithic site very promising for further research given the saturation of artifacts in the cultural layer. Seven objects of archaeological heritage were reexamined, including the petroglyphs of Largi, fortified settlement of Sivachi, Kudikan site, Tontoka-1 site, Tontoka-2 settlement, Ust-Zheltuga-1 settlement, and Ust-Zheltuga-2 settlement. For testing the hypothesis concerning possible communication between the settlements of the Shilkinsky system by means of signal lights, a field experiment was carried out with the purpose of reconstructing the system of signal fires at Ust-Cherninsky and Chudeiskoye fortified settlements.
