Arab spring: expectations and disappointments

In early 2011, the Arab world was shocked by the wave of people’s riots that has engulfed more than twenty countries in North Africa. Five years later the countries are still experiencing the consequences of the so-called Arab spring. In Syria, civil war is still ongoing, crowds of migrants from the Maghreb countries are still moving to Europe. The article discusses the causes and main stages of the Arab spring, gives the classification of scenarios, and analyzes the consequences and aftermath of the Arab spring.
