The paper introduces anthropological remnants from the Ust’-Al’ma cemeterydated to the 2nd century BC - 3rd century AD. A sample of 124 individuals demonstrates oneof the best demographic indicators among all known materials from Crimean necropoleiand abutting areas of the North Black Sea coastal line, the Sea of Azov areas and theDon and Volga steppes from the period contemporary with the site. Craniometrical datashow morphological similarity between a small male sample and the population of theBosporan cities located on the Taman Peninsula and Tanais. The cultural attribution ofthe female sample is difficult due to similarity of the craniological characteristics of thefemale series from Scythian, Bosporan and Chernyakhovo cemeteries, which may implya predominantly male nature of migrations during the Classic period, with the femaleportion of the substratum population of the Black Sea coastal area maintained.
