The article provides a comparative analysis of the mortality rate among the population in Kemerovo region, the Republic of Buryatia and the Republic of Tuva focused on age and sex (five-year interval) and nosological indicators (according to ICD-10 classes) in 2009-2015. The mortality due to the leading causes varies considerably from region to region in terms of their level and their proportion in the overall structure. The mortality from malignant neoplasm displays the smallest gender differences, and the mortality from external causes shows the greatest ones. The study calculates the relative risks of male mortality in different age groups from the main groups of death causes. Based on the correlation analysis, the authors reveal the relationship between the death rate (as the resulting health indicator) and the regional social and economic indicators (the gross regional product and the actual consumption of households per capita, per capita income, floor area per capita). In addition, each entity is identified by distinctive features.
