Topical issues of theology of history on the pages of the “Proceedings of the department of theology of the St. Petersburg Theological Academy”, 2021, No. 4 (12), 247 p

The article is a review of materials No. 4 (12) for 2021 of the scientific journal “Proceedings of the Department of Theology of the St. Petersburg Theological Academy”. The journal has been published since 2017 under the editorship of the head of the department, Rev. Dimitri Lushnikov. The central place in the issue under review is occupied by the problems of theology of history - a new promising direction of theological research, the subject of which, in contrast to historical science that studies specific events, phenomena and phenomena, is history itself, taken as a whole. In addition to the three main sections - theology, philosophy of religion and religious studies, culturologists - the peer-reviewed issue also includes additional “small” headings - “Scientific controversy”, “Reviews and reflections on books”, “Scientific life of the department”. It is noted that the journal consciously seeks to update new forms of scientific controversy through broad discussions, the exchange of knowledge and experience between Orthodox scientists. The issue under review convincingly confirms the editor-in-chief’s thesis that the journal is primarily a scientific publication of the theological department of St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences, reflecting the rich creative and scientific potential of the staff.
