Peptide-dipeptidase a activity in the nervous tissue of rats under long-term administration of the neuroprotective drugs

We studied the effect of the long-term administration (every 24 hours during 14 days) of neuroprotective drugs (piracetam, fenotropil, noopept) on the activity of peptidyl-dipeptidase A (PDPA) in the tissues of rats. The highest activity of PDPA has been observed since the last injection: after 24 hours in pituitary gland and 72 hours in the striatum. This tendency was especially explicit after the injection of piracetam. Our results on the PDPA activity changes may serve as markers of peptidergic system, responding on the influence of neuroprotective drugs, including nootropic drugs.
