Athos and his “unity in diversity” in the socio-cultural concept of Konstantin Leontiev

The article is devoted to the influence of the traditions of Athos on the outstanding Russian thinker Konstantin Leontiev. The year he spent on the Holy Mountain changed his whole life. Athonite impressions and observations had a decisive influence on his concept of the “new eastern culture”, prompting the model of an exemplary state system. From this point of view and in chronological order, the article briefly describes Leontief’s works of different genres, somehow related to the theme of Athos.
