Abilympics as a mechanism for professional guidance

The article is devoted to the current problem of career guidance for students with special needs. Statistics are given on the number of working disabled people and people with disabilities. A comparison is made of statistics for the Russian Federation and the Kemerovo region - Kuzbass. The structure of the competition of professional skills “Abilympics” is outlined. There is a connection between the competition of professional skills “Abilympics” and the career guidance of students through the conduct of career guidance events. The main content of the study is the analysis of the participation of students of the Novokuznetsk State Humanitarian and Technical Boarding College of the Ministry of Labor of Russia in the Abilympics competition from 2015 to 2021 and their further employment. In conclusion, the positive aspects of the Abilympics professional skills competition as a career guidance mechanism are revealed using the example of a boarding college. The following research methods were used: analysis-synthesis, generalization, methods of mathematical processing of research results.
