1933-2018 - 85 years of scientific and production activities of the Povolzhskiy Research Institute of Breeding and Seeds in named after P.N. Konstantinov

The article presents the history of the development of the Federal State Budget Scientific Institution «Povolzhsky Scientific Research Institute of Selection and Seed Growing named after P.N. Konstantinov », Established in 1993 on the basis of the Kinel State Selection Station. P.N. Konstantinov founded in 1933. Over the years of scientific and practical activity, breeders have created more than 120 varieties, hybrids and lines of various agricultural crops, 53 of them are listed in the State Register of Selection Achievements, approved for use in 2018. According to the Samara region, the share of plant breeding varieties ranged from 30% to 60% of the acreage.
