Purpose: On the basis of the criminal procedure legislation of the Russian Federation and the practice of its application to analyze the problems of filing objections of defense counsel as a form of protest against the actions of the presiding judge in jury trials. Methodology: Dialectical, logical, systemic, formal-legal methods were used. Results: The article focuses on the procedural order of filing objections by a defense attorney against the actions of the presiding judge in jury trials: grounds, a form, consideration and resolution of the presiding judge of objections against his actions, specifics of consideration of a criminal case in jury trials. The problems of law enforcement practice on the issues under study have been revealed, and ways of overcoming them have been proposed. Novelty/originality/value: The article is of scientific value and practical importance as it reveals the main problems of the legal nature, legislative regulation and practice of its application regarding defense attorney’s objections as a form of protest against the actions of the presiding judge in a trial by jury.
