Features of modern social networks in the search activity of the investigator

Virtualization of public relations makes certain changes in the tactics of crime investigation, obliges law enforcement officers to develop and put into their practice new methods of work in the current circumstances. The article considers some features of modern social networks in the search activity of the investigator, reflects the need to use social networks in the cognitive activity of a law enforcement officer. The article outlines the current problems and prospects of using information about participants in criminal proceedings from social networks in crime investigation. The authors also reflect the advantages of using such information and the difficulties of working with social networks. Based on the results of the study, the authors formulated conclusions on improving the effectiveness of the investigator's search activity.
