Appearance of a person as a tool for students’ professional socialization

The article focuses on the inclusion of the appearance of a person in social communications. This set of visual tools is considered as a text that is purposefully formed taking into account the place and result of communication. The role of semiotics of the external image of a person in the process of professional socialization of students, taking into account the direction of training, is presented. The choice of texts of the external image of a person aimed at improving professional contacts is justified. The role of cultural codes in this process is indicated. The appearance of a person in the article is positioned as a socialization tool that provides visual exchange of information between communicants, using the example of students of the direction 43.03.01 Service/Service in the fashion and beauty industry. The author carries out the identification of this tool based on monitoring of students for 6 years among 130 students. The observations made it possible to identify quickly readable components of a person's appearance affect the result of socio-cultural contact, such as clothing, hair, makeup, and accessories. The results of monitoring revealed the relationship between the process of purposeful formation of semiotics of the appearance of a person and the level of professional socialization. As a result, the appearance of a person is defined as one of the most effective tools for professional socialization of students, based on the set of its multi-variant visual (clothing, hairstyle, makeup and accessories) used to improve social contacts. It is revealed that the variant of the presented tools depends on its semiotics, the place of translation and the purpose of social and professional contact. The results of monitoring, research and creative experiment contain appearances, widely broadcast in the process of social contacts and influencing effective communication to students with regard to study areas.
