At present, diagnosis of pulmonary embolism remains a difficult problem. The main clinical symptoms are shortness of breath, chest pain and syncope. Risk factors for pulmonary embolism in men include: severe cardiac disease, cancer, trauma of the lower extremities. Timely diagnosis of pulmonary embolism and the use of thrombolytic therapy, implantation of vena cava filters and other methods of treatment and prophylaxis of deep vein thrombosis can reduce mortality and improve prognosis.
