Theoretical and methodological aspects of the assessment of foreign economic security in the region (on the example of Volgograd region)

The economic security occupies one of the central places in the structure of national security. It represents the material base of the whole security system of the state and expresses the fundamental interests of people, economic entities, societies and the state. In the conditions of globalization, the safety of foreign economic activity is a key problem of providing economic security of the state. Modern processes of globalization and internationalization of management predetermine one of the priority areas of economic policy to ensure economic security, which is a structural element of the foreign security. It is reasonable to study the foreign economic security at the regional level taking into account considerable differentiation of Russian regions by the degree of involvement and the nature of participation in world reproduction processes.The authors reveal the content of the category "foreign economic security" and carry out the comparative analysis of the techniques of its assessment. As a result, the authors propose the integrated approach to the analysis and to the assessment of foreign economic security of regions taking into account specific features of their development. On the example of Volgograd region, the challenges and threats of foreign economic security are explained, and the main problems of its ensuring are revealed.
