The article is devoted to the analysis of periodicals of renewal groups of the period of registration of this movement. Characterizing the typology of the Renovationist periodicals published before the first Renovationist Council, it is necessary to distinguish regional periodicals. As a rule, in any diocese there was one magazine published by local diocesan management or initiative group of Renovationists. One of the Central places was occupied by the controversy with the Patriarchal Church and discussion of topical issues and events related to the Renovationist movement. Periodicals in the field were based on uniform models or circulars from the center of the renewal movement, most of them experienced significant financial difficulties, were published in a relatively small circulation and often ceased to exist after the publication of several issues. By the time of the organizational formalization of the Renovationist split, i.e. by the Spring 1922. Its future leaders already had the experience of issuing periodicals, which reflected their Church reform ideas, which were subsequently developed and approved in the program documents of the main Renovationist groups, as well as at the so - called Second local Council of the Russian Orthodox on April 29 - may 9, 1923. Thus, already in the initial period of existence of the Renovationist schism, the formation of its periodical press was completed, that is, before the Council 1923.
