Establishment of state protection for participants in criminal proceedings in pre-revolutionary Russia

Introduction: the article is devoted to the analysis of historical prerequisites and the genesis of state protection during the pre-revolutionary period in Russia. This choice of topic is due to the fact that formation of criminal procedure legislation took place in this period, which in turn served as the future basis for modern criminal procedure law, including with regard to ensuring and creating safe environment for participants in criminal proceedings. The relevance of the study is expressed in the insufficient study of the pre-revolutionary period of the development of Russian criminal procedure law in ensuring safety for participants of criminal proceedings. Such a comparison of the previous and modern state of protection for participants in criminal proceedings allows distribute the initial beginnings of this legal institution, identify the main positive growth vectors in the future.
