Synthesis of diphenylmethanone

Diphenylmethanone was used by us for receiving absolute solvents in metalloorganic synthesis of sexual pheromones of insects. On the basis of the experimental datas assessment of effectiveness of a method for ethoxy ethane, tetrahydrofuran, benzene and a toluene is carried out. Synthesis of diphenylmethanone carried out by alkylation of benzene with carbon tetrachloride. It is established that dichlordiphenylmethane is completely hydrolyzed in diphenylmethanone within 3 clocks. The identity of connection is proved by melting point and an IR-spectroscopy.
