One of the basic conditions for health is rational physical activity. Physical actions are powerful factors that increase the adaptive capacity of the body, extend the functionality of reserves. However, the practice of physical education in correctional institutions of IV type has not become an effective factor of physical fitness of children yet. The aim of the study was to develop normative scales of complex assessment of physical fitness indices of visually impaired children. The tests were used to assess speed-strength and coordination abilities of children, flexibility, and speed. The methodology of calculation of comparative standards and method of confidence intervals was used to determine standard indices of various aspects of preparedness of children. All tests have been tested for reliability and informativeness. The introduction of rating scales in the educational process of special educational institutions of IVtype will allow to monitor effectively the dynamics of physical fitness of students, to determine the individual level of development of each child, and at the same time to provide the foundation for productive construction of adaptive physical education with students of this nosological group.
