Legal proceedings in the Russian army in the 17th century

The article reviews the development of judicial proceedings in the Russian state over a period from the Time of Troubles up to the reign of Peter the Great. The evolution of legal proceedings is scrutinized using a careful study of the main source of law, over the given period of time, particularly Council Code of 1649.
