Global employment observes the rise in labor activity and economic socialization of the population at retirement age. The research aims at determining the regional features of late economic socialization. As for the data and methods, a questionnaire survey of employed pensioners was conducted in 2020-2021; the difference in the attitudes of retirement age respondents to economic realities in Moscow and Chelyabinsk was examined. The obtained results reveal that employment in Moscow is much more satisfying for respondents than in Chelyabinsk; the «creative component» for employed respondents in Moscow is noticeably higher than in Chelyabinsk. The data also indicates a remarkably higher economic activity and «involvement» of Muscovites in economic processes. Respondents in Moscow are much more satisfied with their life, show greater respect for the positions of human active and purposeful economic behavior compared to respondents in Chelyabinsk. The latter are more concerned with the safety of their «hard-earned money» and are more meticulous in choosing a bank while opening a deposit than Muscovites. Chelyabinsk respondents have much less respect for entrepreneurship and a noticeably lower opinion of entrepreneurs; they strongly prefer to be noticed by their material wealth; they are less financially literate; they tend to think about the past and the future more often.
