The article is devoted to analysis of the relationship of rationality and values on the three main stages in the development of European philosophy: ontological, epistemological and axiological. Since the turn of the XIX-XX centuries, the fore is a philosophical understanding of the value of human existence and knowledge. By the turn of XX-XXI centuries, radical changes have occurred in the evolution of rationality - from classical to non-classical and post-non-classical. Value, at this stage, is the truth of the spirit and content characteristics of rationality as an effective activity of the mind.
