Introduction. This article examines the psycho-emotional state with regard to the possibilities of adaptation of the individual. The reasons for the negative psycho-emotional state, methods of its correction are given. The goal is to reveal the peculiarities of the psycho-emotional state of servicemen during their adaptation. Materials and Methods. The survey covered 60 contract military servicemen. The methods of defining Health, Activity, Mood and Dominant Psychological State were employed. When processing empirical data, the SPSS 25.0 and Excel software package, methods of descriptive statistics, correlation and factor analysis were used. Results and Discussion. The necessity of correcting the psycho-emotional state of military servicemen during their adaptation is revealed. The psycho-emotional state is an indicator of the course of adaptation of military personnel, and its diagnostics is possible within the short time intervals unlike personality tests. This makes the application of methods of defining Health, Activity, Mood and Dominant Psychological State and some other similar methods substantiated and desirable in psychologist’s practice. The indicators of the psycho-emotional state of military servicemen during their adaptation are empirically investigated. Three clusters with low, medium and high results are identified. Almost all the results on the scales are significantly interconnected (Health, Activity, Mood and Dominant Psychological State separately). The exception is the “emotional desirability” scale: according to it, the results often do not correlate with the main scales of the methodology of Dominant Psychological State. This suggests that military servicemen at the stage of adaptation with high results in the diagnostics of psycho-emotional state tend to somewhat overestimate their indicators and their results differ from the average ones. Conclusions. The psycho-emotional state is an indicator of the success of the entire course of adaptation, its measurement is important for practical purposes, does not require long intervals like personality tests, in particular the "Adaptability" technique, and does not imply special preparation and difficulties in conducting a psycho-diagnostic procedure. The distribution into three clusters with high, medium and low indicators at both stages of the empirical study showed that psychological work on the correction of the psycho-emotional state can be applied to all groups of subjects.
