Application of machine vision for searching and detection of surface defects of weld seam

The article gives a brief review of filtration methods and morphological operations in relation to the problem of detection of surface defects. Step-by-step algorithm of defect detection developed in the integrated environment of Vision Builder AI is considered. The efficiency of the algorithm is confirmed by the results of detection of a crack and a crater on the surface of a welded joint using the research platform of machine vision.
