Legal consciousness and legal culture as an anti-corruption tool

The article presents the results of scientific research on the problem of corruption relations in Russia. In order to obtain an objective assessment of legal awareness and legal culture of citizens in matters of corruption the survey was conducted anonymously in different regions of Russia (Saint-Petersburg, Saratov oblast and Krasnodar Krai). Persons who participated in the survey (115 people), have higher education, are aware of the concept and nature of corruption, have a clear idea about the legal responsibility for corruption crimes. As a result, the scientific research revealed the existence of a number of myths that contribute to the formation of the double standards when corrupt reality is perceived as a rejection and simultaneously as an acceptance of various acts of corruption. In conclusion, preventing measures of the corruption are proposed, which, first and foremost, are aimed at improving the legal awareness and legal culture of citizens.
