This article is devoted to an urgent problem - the social adaptation of students with disabilities. The article presents the results of a study of the social competence of students with severe speech impairment and hearing impairment. Based on the results of the analysis, the authors conclude that it is necessary to organize special psychological and pedagogical conditions for the development of the components of social competence of students with severe speech impairments and hearing impairments, since they are not developed enough for successful social adaptation and socialization.
