Features of sociological research in the modern post-Soviet society

Conceptualization of society and its structural elements and processes of their change - a result of certain investigations, which are called social. Sociological study of society - a kind of social research, which has its own specifics. The paper analyzes regional differences in comparative sociological research in the various territories of the former Soviet Union. Examines the role of Russian language and culture as the integrating principle for understanding the complex socio-political processes in contemporary society, as well as the role of religion and geographical factors in the organization of case studies of various ranks.
