Purpose: To identify the main trends and problems of bankruptcy procedures for individuals in modern Russia. Methodology: The article uses a formal-legal method, a method of comparative analysis. Results: The article analyzes the features and trends in the development of bankruptcy procedures for individuals in modern Russia, revealing the main problems in the process of applying the Bankruptcy Law. Attention is drawn to the low number of bankruptcy procedures for individuals with a large number of citizens who are actually in a state of bankruptcy. The main problems that prevent citizens of the Russian Federation in opening a bankruptcy procedure for an individual are highlighted, attention is drawn to the need to eliminate these problems through improving the legal framework and law enforcement practice. Novelty/originality/value: This article is devoted to a problem that is relevant for the Russian legal science and society as a whole, which has great scientific, theoretical and practical significance. The results of the work can be used to further comprehend and develop the bankruptcy laws in modern Russia.
