Introduction. According to numerous clinical observations and epidemiology studies, late organic mental disorders in people exposed to radiation are of considerable interest to Russian and foreign scientists. In the present paper, an assessment of mental disorders developing against the background of vascular diseases of the brain in exposed persons was carried out. Materials and methods. The object of the research were people exposed to radiation due to radioactive waste releases into the Techa River (1949-1952) - 300 people. The comparison group consisted of 300 people living in the same territories, but whose accumulated exposure dose did not exceed 1 mSv/year. Clinical, clinical-anamnestic, clinical-psychological, instrumental (electroencephalography, research of event-related potentials of the brain) research methods were used in the study. Results.
