Обзор факторов риска развития старческой катаракты

Изучение процессов естественного старения организма, в том числе под воздействием многих внешних факторов, является актуальным научным направлением последних лет. Старческая катаракта - многофакторное заболевание. Затраты на хирургическое лечение катаракты остаются одной из главных статей расходов в здравоохранении. Основным фактором риска развития старческой катаракты является возраст. Заболеваемость катарактой удваивается каждые 10 лет жизни. В обзоре рассматриваются литературные источники, описывающие результаты научных исследований о влиянии на развитие катаракты таких факторов риска, как возраст, пол, расовая принадлежность, курение, употребление алкоголя, наличие сахарного диабета, прием некоторых лекарственных препаратов, влияние ряда факторов окружающей среды, включая ультрафиолетовое и ионизирующее излучение. Показано, что многие из этих факторов могут повышать или понижать риск развития старческой катаракты; в отношении некоторых факторов риска данные противоречивы. Приведены количественные характеристики рисков формирования катаракты, выраженные через отношение шансов, под воздействием возрастных параметров, употребления алкоголя, ионизирующего излучения и пр. Показано, что вопрос о том, является ли зависимость «доза-эффект» для развития катаракты пороговой или беспороговой, остается открытым.
