Dating of the Finnish ground burials in the Lower Oka basin

The paper reports on the materials from the two earliest burials inthe Podvyaz'e burial ground. Chronologically and culturally, the examined assemblagesrefer to a group of burials of the Koshibeevo stage of the Ryazan-Oka cemeteriesand provide an opportunity to have a more holistic picture of the history regardingthe Finns' occupation of the lower and middle reaches of the Oka River. In both regionsthe ritual of ground burials emerged, most likely, in the same period, i. e. the middle -the second half of the 3rd c. BC.
